2013 Year in Review
The world is grand and exposed. Tile in old colonial quarters... sour, tropical drinks. Hunger and angst and a shuffling of dreamscapes and the ocean on my feet! Biking through the smog and returning with the cinematic rhythm of falling in love with life, confused, just like an adolescent again.

Business trip to cancun
sola in Cancun. Have to stay focused
Its easy to feel like I'm in the last dream sequence from eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, or inception or life of pi something.
The ocean is so big, so loud, and so damn empty. There is so much black air and water and I can feel it all at once. I need a tiger to cuddle with. Better than PowerPoint. All this will change tomorrow, when I wake up and see a collassal wad of rippling turquesa and I will return to the Truman show, testing the limits of what is real not by waking up and being baffled by the infinite solitude of things but the opposite - by jabbing at the walls of the babble with the spoke of my sailing vessel. Is this Toy life real? I'll think.

The legless man
Its dreams week.
So many dreams happening. Businesses opening. Tasting menus. Private gatherings about social innovation. Redefining the face of countries through wildly futuristic media. Beachfront celebrations. Experimental afterparties. Its dreams week.
An old man with no leg- literally, the femur was removed at age 16 - told me, "I try to make it seem like I just sprained my ankle, cuz I work out too much." He pointed to his head. "It's all in here. You know what I decided would lift my spirits, when I was 18, and realized I'd be in crutches for the next 50 years?" "What?" I said, while watching the game and eating a portabello burger. "Always score really hot girlfriends. Then people would be envious of me and not vice versa."
He spends his life improving public works for the handicapped & lives in a penthouse during the week.
Find your own way, people, and go big.... its dreams week!!!

I liked walking around the neighborhood with you too
A text response gone solikoquoy.
There is so much to discover.... I get really inspired by all the things to experience
Me too. My favorite thing about our city- and so much hope coming out of our neighborhood- is the infinity of meaningful projects to undertake.
I'm excited for your involvement in compañia because its one of those integrated multidisciplinary ventures that makes a community vibrant. It'll make people happier just knowing there is life and energy and entrepreneurs there. Yesterday I was talking to my taxi driver about how exciting the concept was- I was also marketing it to the managers of the aurora patio folks. Everybody should be involved in projects that not only move something that they care about, but allow them to be expressive. You could take your music project and collaborate with local music teachers and run a different type of workshop for kids in the neighborhood, for example.
A deep look at la Roma reveals unlikely, but wildly socially responsible passions and dreams. Sometimes they are simple, but they are almost always part of a movement. Is that hydroponics spotted atop the old green library house on alvaro obregon, shuttered during the week, and open, breezy, majestic if raggedy on Saturdays?. Casa del Agua? Responsible water conservation that is a socially and politically charged bold statement in itself. It confronts the origins and the future of life in the DF volcanic valley itself. The project inspires me to just imagine how many inventions we could scale to the slums to change- and fix- the way water is distributed to millions of people (locally/safely).
What about the new concept Roma market redesigning Tiangui/ slow food concepts within walls to confront community-damaging supermarkets, meanwhile stimulating stabikity in artesenal food production? The weight of these projects is a hope that extends to the entire developing world.
What about the historical juxtaposition? Floating farms, decaying mansions, dozens of community movements.. new entrepreneurial models.. and the victory of plants, constantly busting through cracks, sinking walls and shading abandoned paths that reveal past empires?
God dammit we live in a romantic time and place. And its really wonderful to share it with someone very nice.
You are awesome and I have so many things to say so I just wrote you an essay I will share with you next time we walk around.
I am full of ideas
I just got like 20 art ideas
I sometimes think la roma is one of the wonders of the world
you are awesome and I am full of lots of ideas
new ways to think about the neighborhood
- themes in nomenclature in biz's
- fast vs slow combos in food presentation
- trends that may vs. Should die
- businesses that deserve more funding
- ways to involve non consumer segments of the community
- textural imprints
- trash objects with an interesting story
- examples of nature winning
Alternative tours "roma bingo"
you are awesome and I am full of lots of ideas
new ways to think about the neighborhood
I have bursts of creativity and the get paralyzed and don't know how to make them happen. That's one of my big goals this year, move officially towards a more disruptive design thinking career. Big things ahead I hope. Maybe you can help me
I need the biggest help in courage to stay inspired

Love letter #1
(Not the glass shards one)
Dear,
I'm awake thinking about men who used to stroll around with monocles, curved umbrellas and basset hounds. And what big ideas they saw for the world. And how modernity came like a landslide, and toppled everything they knew. And with what humility and awe a 90-something Roma survivor must feel as he enters the corner tlaperia that is his only unchanged childhood memory.
This is NOT good for robotic computation.
Thank you for being my storytelling friend. I like you. You make me care about the world around me a little more. You ignite my imagination.
Con cariño,
Alicia
Emerging teeth
Inside an old mansion - which is castle-like because of cold exposed brick, tall hollowed-out archways, and multiple levels with bridges weaving across cavernous central patios - instagram held a party.
The house had been in decay and the old parlor rooms had cracked apart and fallen in like a dungeon. The hand-poured glass had fallen out like teeth. A man saw four stories of abandoned city-center 17th century decrep inid ruins as an investment. He restored the building and filled it with art: local artists' cell phone camera pix of Mexico City, gelatin printed and framed, to fill the restored halls, accompanied by a dj and local organic mezcal. LOOK WHAT WE CAN DO with this neighborhood.
What's going on? The intersection of real estate PR, community documentary, viral tech, colonial history, urban development and art curation?! Yes. And this is 100% Mexico City today. The potential of restoring this city to prior glory requires wild juxtapositions of champions. This is the city of the luchador hero, (lucha libre translates as "free struggle"), the continental conquistador, and the aztec jaguar god, in reverse historical order. The city's most innovative neighborhood (Roma) was once a floating farm, a playground of art nouveau mansions, and a jungle of ancient informal trade depots. Now, it is where techies and hipsters ride free government-funded ecoBicis between organic food stores and discuss green interior design for low-income housing projects.
These juxtapositions make Mexico City one of the realest places in the world to learn about the interdisciplinary necessity of technology. How did instagram become the main event to Re- launch an old castle in the "scariest" area of the federal district? Internet tech is the new language that unites everything, so we have an amazing postmodern opportunity and duty to create new wild champions.
And THIS is the type of thinking where businesses will unlock brilliant, flexible ideas, especially in marketing in emerging markets.
What lifts you out
Superar
I think of it really as "overcome"/survive/tolerate, but a more glorious version of it. To rise up and above after a struggle with something difficult; similar to "thrive despite roadblocks"; deal with and get over something with inner strength
Popocatepetl
My senior year in college I painted a volcano in watery aqua paint on my bedroom wall. When I moved to mexico city and found out that an active volcano overlooks the city, my jaw dropped. It somehow had to mean something deep and powerful. I wanted to build a relationship with Popo.
This month, I've been approaching the volcano as a meditative symbol - a tool to find some meaning and some expression in my life.
Here are some amazing things about volcanoes as symbols.
wild, unpredictable
Losing sleep thinking about how awesome volcanoes are.
Maybe I'll become a volcano worshipper. Could be convenient since there's a big one overlooking Mexico City. When Popo spits, I gotta reflect on what I'm giving off..
"The aftermath of volcanic explosions allow for a lush, richness of growth."
Happy Volcano month.

’ve been asked about symbolic volcano facts, and what volcanoes represent in the realm of philosophical symbolism.
Culturally, we can look to Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes and fire. As we would expect, her archetypal personality is a bit volcanic; she is honored for her wild, unpredictable, temperamental ways.
Interestingly, legend indicates Pele as a sort of character-builder for humans. She presents trials and challenges to the human race with the expectation of producing strength and development within those she tempts. A neat page I found on Pele can be viewed here.
Volcanoes themselves can be viewed as a sort of challenge symbol. Their formations are mountainous, and as such they represent the upward challenge our lives sometimes present. Protruding largely (and sometimes ominously) out from an otherwise unassuming landscape, volcanoes remind us of the goals we aspire to reach, the journey to get there, and the value of the climb to the top.
Predominantly, volcano facts reveal the incorporation of all the elements, and as such, volcanoes hold special symbolic power as they encompass the power of Earth, Air, Water and Fire.
Earth:
As an earth symbol, the symbolism of volcanoes reminds us to:
Hold steady to our most dominant anchor
Ground ourselves
Remain rooted in our foundational beliefs
In this manner, volcanoes urge us to not be shaken by external ripples. Rather, sink deeply into the cool, rich strata that is the depth of our knowledge and remain there for solace, guidance and assurance that our foundations can serve as constant refuge.
Air:
As an air symbol, we see a cooling effect as well as the element of thought and communication. As we observe the life cycle of the volcano, we realize the element of air plays a symbolic role in asking us questions like:
What kind of smoke signals am I sending out (am I communicating effectively)?
What kind of effect are my thoughts having on my external events?
Do my thoughts harden my experience, or heat things up allowing my proverbial magma to flow more freely?
When we recognize the symbolism of air as a method of communication or thought – we can clearly identify the symbolic smoke of our ruminations.
Water:
A symbol of water is found in the form of flowing lava in symbolic volcano fact & lore. Fluid, burgeoning, and resistent to limitations lava reminds us of these points:
Am I going with the flow?
How can I more easily move through resistance?
Water is an archetypal symbol of emotion, and as such, water asks us to take stock of our feelings. When water bears a message to us in the form of volcanic activity, it may indicate a need to enhance our calm. It may also indicate a need to identify some underlying rage and diffuse it.
Fire:
Lastly as a fire symbol, volcanoes speak to us of passion, action, creativity and power. When the element of fire explodes onto our philosophical scene, we may ask ourselves questions like:
How can I ride this wave of passionate inspiration for all its worth?
How can I heat up other areas in my life that need a little spicing up?
Am I being called to take action in a situation I’ve been avoiding?
Volcanic fire is complex in that it lurks beneath the surface for a period of time – mulling, brewing. After compiling tremendous pressure it explodes into stunning manifestations.
This is a key symbolic point of volcanoes. For those of us who are called to the symbolism of the volcano, it is imperative we keep a watchful inner eye on our subsurface fires. We who gravitate to volcanic energy tend to hold our firey passions a little too close, and a little too long. If this is the case, envision letting off a bit of steam every once in a while to avoid cataclysmic (and usually self-destructive) explosions.
However, when eruptions do come (and they will, it is the way of nature) remember regeneration, growth and renewal follow in its footsteps. The aftermath of volcanic explosions allow for a lush, richness of growth. Keep this in mind when passions run wild to the point of over-extension and ultimate release. In the wake of expression, recognize you’ve funneled a way to relief for yourself and others. You could even say trough a seemingly destructive act comes reconstruction and creation in its stead.
I hope you have enjoyed these thoughts on symbolic volcano facts, but don’t let this post be your only point of reference.
Take the time to meditate and contemplate all the complexities the volcano holds. Let Pele take you on a journey to her volcanic realms, and let the lava language of volcanoes roll through your psyche with all its revolutionary power.
Design Fantasies
Mexico city is an unbelievable backdrop to become dedicated to design-based problem solving because the city planners have taken unbelievable risks in order to overcome unthinkable barriers.
One famous example is how the city was founded itself - in a lake; a man-built temple for the center of the Aztec universe surrounded by floating farms and amazing aquatic trade and warfare canal systems. Now occupying some of those canals are double or triple-decker overpass highways, wild feats of engineering hosting almost 3 million vehicles on the road daily. When Mexico found itself in dystopic, polluted, violent decay and "brain drain" to suburbs and the U.S. in the 90s and onwards, planners audaciously installed gigantic live plant towers to suck up highway pollution, hundreds of accessible bike share stations, an electro-responsive skyscraper with programmable wall panels to project images across the city and host futuristic art happenings underground. These are only a few of the amazing solutions to restore vitality to America's most intimidating megatropolis. Not to mention poverty solution at immense scale - flying toilets for slums, sustainable gardens in poor housing projects, platforms to allow informal street tent vendors to form minifranchises. The possibilities are endless and the confrontation of design with ancient civilization and futuristic urbanity makes the potential impact of successful programs scalable to previously unreachable or "impossible" parts of the world where tradition, corruption, and lack of access frustrate others.
But design thrives in Mexico City.
Ode to the tamale man
Dear Oaxaqueñan Tamale Man, with your speaker larger than your steaming tin pot of your wife's proud tamales, man of the year, Aztec of the new hipster emerald city:
your distribution never ceases to amaze, but from the fade-in fade-out circles around my block at 10pm, I'm sensing your sales rate appears to yield little hope. Since sales efficiency cannot be your priority, certainly, having exhausted the optimized ad frequency by the thousands per human and invading walls with your own repeated, recorded voice (this is not an ice cream truck!), i have to ask you, to make sure you are human, and to preserve my own humanity:
I hate you. I would never buy from you. You're worse than a bum: I can't shut you out. If I went to hell, your tamale recording would play.
But it is you I have chosen to love. Your song is as kind as my favorite E.E. poem:
"I have eaten the plums
In the icebox
Which you were probably saving
For breakfast
Forgive me
They were delicious
So sweet and so cold."
I hear your hum. It is brain-paralyzing.
How meditative is it for you to go on for hours with that speaker? How much joy, curiosity, release and nervous eagerness does a tamale sale give you? Does anyone run out to catch you, a naive immigrant? Who are your old man regulars? Do tamales even matter to you? Or are you perfectly pleased with the echo of your sound through familiar streets, your empire, which you know best?
Tamale man, no one can deny it you are a robot-being, but you are our most loyal guardian; if awake, you see every store awning hung, clausurado sticker pasted; bike unchained and flower sprouted. If you are as you seem- an existential post-death trance of broken pavement, grime and electronics; striking both curiosity and fear in pedestrians who hear you every night from their beds, and every morning naked in their showers; do those familiar eyes give you life? When people look at you as if they know you better than their own spouses, want to see you, yet also loathe you? Don't you ever wish to one day, you could go home and ask your great aunt to sign a hauntingly beautiful love ballad in a native language ... And the following rainy morning, emerge with your bike, haunting everybody with the new song from your speaker? Imagine the physical excitement to rotate the same streets as always, your meditative circuit - and let the lovers, the cooks, the children and the mechanics all hear this new piece of your own intimate life, as you forcibly enter theirs? Tamale man, vulnerable and human? Tamale man monologue? How many ignore you- and close off their senses - since it is impossible to know you? How loved could you be, if you broadcasted your own self one day?
Ever since the yelling morning man stopped yelling with mad ferocity and became two, the yelling brothers, who together began howling lower, more tired, more forgiving.... It made me imagine the yeller sitting before his meal, capable of human sensitivity. The unthinkable, not long ago.

The mosquito of bad sleep nights
Sometimes I am afraid
That the mosquito that haunts me in my sleep at night is a figment of my imagination
Like titinnitus, or ants crawling on your skin
Something my wild mind creates to haunt me when I cannot rest - when I pull the covers up over my head and leave a hole for my face to breathe- and the mosquito buzzes, buzzes, zips like an evil beast and runs into my neck, sits on my nose to laugh.
Sits upon my nose to laugh at my cheeks!
I cannot kill it! It doesn't die!
BAP!
I turn the lights back on. As I write this it runs into my neck. BLASP! I injure it. I cannot kill it. I throw it by the legs off my bed and onto the wooden floor.
What my future is squeaking to me
I think I might go to the design engineering school at stanford
Or at least get at some way to solve Google[x]level problems around equality
I have totally refreshed focus this week. I'm excited.
Wow that's exciting. What inspired the change?
Something clicked on my flight home from Frankfurt as I was reading this passage about solving problems like making walls breathe better
I've been searching for the next dream, one that ties Latin America and art and disruptive science all in, my 3 big passions
some things have been osmosis, like both parents in sustainability, or df's wacky green design projects, or google's clean water or this guy I met who invented an engine and it amazingly made sense
Dukies in tulum set me off. Kim as a peer & mentor, you as an example of audacity working/ambition not jading, but polishing. I felt so re-centered w the quality content of the convos I realized I will move back to the US even if I do wild projects elsewhere
I just miss the network and the ability to be on, awake and open.
You showed me some good things- worth impact- reminding me what I am can actively be similar to what I could be. That active momentum, I gotta get everything rolling so I don't miss any chances. This weekend made me believe in things.
There are certain people I've met in my life that have this energy like they're already in the future. Always dangerous, always brilliantly impactful. There's just this massive, looming, wildly balanced intense potential energy all over. And I know what that means.
Shouldn't have kissed me on the dance floor ;)
rotating like a shiny disc over us.
I know this type of magnetism has an amazing potential for impact.
Noticing really different things. Brilliant presence.
Always dangerous, always brilliantly impactful.
You showed me some good things- worth impact- reminding me what I am can actively be similar to what I could be. That active momentum, I gotta get everything rolling so I don't miss any chances. This weekend made me believe in things. Like finding the extraordinary. Took me home in a way.
Shouldn't have kissed me on the dance floor ;)
I know that might sound weird.
A homecoming of sorts you brought me...
If I tell u a secret, I know your type of magnetism has an amazing potential for impact. I've seen it before. Brilliant, always dangerous, spinning like a clay pot being spun, balanced and waiting to be stretched, tumbling out of direction when pushed wrong, or for whim, or like a supernova about to turn into something different.
You showed me some good things- worth impact- reminding me what I am can actively be similar to what I could be. That active momentum, I gotta get everything rolling so I don't miss any chances. This weekend made me believe in things.

Dreamt last night I was back in SF...
Going really fast on my ride home, gaining speed dodging muddy traffic - was thinking about you kiting. If only I
I was thinking about you kiting as I dodged through traffic in the rain the other day. Made me wish if I could just jump and do an xgames 360° over the taxis. That would make my truckdodgin Lara croft alter ego complete
...I want to attach a kite to my bike so if I build up the right speed I can do 360s over the trucks during muddy traffic! Maybe u can teach me?
And if you had a bike kite too, we could coordinate booyah air moves as we leapt over the evil suburbans. I'll work on that so when you come visit I'll have some mad moves. ;)
That would make my truckdodgin Lara croft alter ego complete.
****** I was thinking about you kiting as I dodged through traffic in the rain the other day. Made me wish if I could just jump and do an xgames 360° over the taxis. That would make my truckdodgin Lara croft alter ego complete
And if it floods enough you could just kite board alongside and show me the ropes (get mad air over the suburbans... rail the trucks.. kiss me at the end?!). Urban bikekiteing - a rainy season sport in mexico
Rainy, from bed
Can we invent a new sport, called urban bikekiting? When mexico city floods, we really need a better way to get around traffic.. just think- dodgin trucks, getting splashy, then Boom! 360° over the evil suburbans. Gotta be the best way to commute during rainy season... You gotta come down and show me the ropes ;)
Idea ovary - never released
Platform - in this case it'd be like a type of online art gallery and production space, but first I need to see the physical studio to make decisions on what type of tool would be most interesting to build (commerce?social?content discovery?curation? A store?)
A bio that has never been released
Bio 2:
Hola, soy Alice.
Recovery for a terrible day in which i felt deep ennui
So... it doesn't matter if I'm doing something wrong, as long as I pay attention and stay awake enough to make tweaks every day.
Stability can come from anywhere. Your family. Maybe today, my family was the gentleman who (out of nowhere) knew my name and poured me a free glass of wine at the neighborhood cafe as i did maths and ate huauzontle. Or the way my brand new cleaning lady explained her pride in her work and her insistence on justice, and repeated my phone number slowly and firmly, as if to memorize it. All I had to do today was listen, and the gente showed a lot of heart. When you are patient enough to see how much some people care, all else can settle in and rest. Lots of people have dreams on a thread out there - and every one is worth reinforcing, if we get so lucky to be that awake.

New Books
I am so obsessed with my new book on water restoration in DF! We are literally sitting on a gigantic ancient venetian empire. Trying to grasp the scale of this place is wildly daunting and from an environmentalist perspective mesmerizing. There are actually plans to "Save planet Mexico City" with engineering projects of nearly hallucinogenic scope, perhaps because it recalls buried ancient history in ways so rarely attempted Inside of a city. This place is Rome, indeed.
What I never sent: You will find love again.
It just has to be the right time.
Time moves like an accordion. It stretches out slowly and sadly, then crunches back and forth in excitement. So much can happen in so little space. Believe in the rhythm of your own song.
Try to be honest as possible without hurting anybody.
Sad and mad
Albino frog-giant dictator + Macho unibrow prissymanchild = not high rate of success. Think of royal India, if the Indians rather than the british were little bitches. I accidentally emasculate the pretty local rich boys all the time! One solution is the loner musicians with ponytails, who, while shy, are not intimidated. However, I am 27. Gotta find the Argentines.
Getting mad at the painter.
You left my stuff in disorder and got paint on my clothes and didn't warn me that I wouldn't be able to sleep in my house
Legal trouble
Good news: will not be sent to Mex doghouse for instagramming at govt office. Successfully charmed gay tax officer by pointing out the uncanny resemblance of my just-taken tax ID photo to Health Ledger as The Joker from Dark Night, and the wild and charming coincidence that my FMM3 photo is a twin image of Uma Thurman from Kill Bill... I should be allowed to instagram where I please since I'm a criminal for entertainment purposes only. "What state are you from?" He asked. "Soy Californizada." "Haha," he said.. "Cuidate mucho." He showed me the door.
Craving accountability
I wish anyone in power had something else to say, like "we feel in control and will action to try to prevent this from happening again".... and then actually do something... the reaction that it could happen anywhere is the most passive bullshit I've ever heard.. obviously no one believes anything can be done. This mentality must change. Accountability and initative, por favor
Hangover
Enjoying a sceney social lunch with the latest urban development-themed art mag and a citrusy Chilean chardonnay. Pear carpaccio and mushroom bisque with pan rustico on the way! Telenovela stars lurking by the gourmet spices.
I haven't brushed my hair and I'm wearing last night's T-shirt, but maybe I look famous.
Vague n'cheesy zen outpouring for a Monday night.
Never lose sight of what brings you vitality!
If you are honest and listen to yourself when you are brimming with love, everything will flow through and past you, and everything you keep comes round again! Arrhythmia is alarming but harmless if you are kind to yourself.
I have no idea who i wrote this for
Barriers to Productive relationships with myself
#1 I need to stop chasing people who don't care about me
#2 there are a lot of people who care about me who I still chase
#3 love and affection starts with friendship. If I am honest! I will be happy.
#4. What the fuck.
#5. Why do so few people breed positivity?
Getting a brown boyfriend
Asking Aziz ansari to start a tech tycoon new dystany with me in MX
Going home to my small town in the old south has reignited my need for a sense of empire. Or maybe I should just blame that on my first trip to whole foods in almost five months. The things that can do to a person.
--------------
Hi Aziz, first of all.. Love you omg
You are soo cute and smart OK!
Hi. I am going to ask you some questions and then I'm going to ask you to marry me. See, I live in Mexico City and I moved there because I'm interested in being the next technology tycoon.
what's going well? I work on the 22nd floor of a building that is at the intersection about 19 major highways we have a balcony. this is excellent news for water balloon domination. we also may have the best Harlem shake video in the southern hemisphere due to the great balcony and everyone's gorgeous latina tan. the problem is we're still not good enough. I work at google and were only about 100 people. In a country of 100m this is very bad representation. so in order to become the technology tycoon for Mexico I dream of I think I need your help.
since moving to Mexico I've learned that the most important factor describing a person is a color their hair. in fact when I got there, they all called me Guera, which means gigantic albino alien lady, even though they can't see that's my natural hair color is actually dark brown. so here come some of my most important starting questions:
are you black Mexican?
(No)
Damn!!! Black Mexicans are cool because they're still under represented in Mexico and I thought a black Mexican albino combination of the street might throw people off, which is our first chance at toppling carlos slim.
Are you blasian?
(No)
Are you sure? (Yes) So we really can't call you negrasiatico? Its a nice phonic combination of "analgesic" and "negroni", both of which are relaxing terms for beverages. come to which another relaxing term for a beverage in mexico is Indio. But some other tycoon already took that one. see in Mexico you cant even call yourself an indio. You have to call yourself a HindU, because indio is taken. Indio is a beer. Calling yourself a hundU which is strange because you're probably baptist. You're Baptist, right, south Carolina?
Which brings me to my next point: in 35 years is there a high likelihood that you will wear a comb over?
(Yes)
okay good because it's important for our interracial children tycoons to gel their hair the local way and fit in nicely. I'm planning for several generations of Tycoonery to come.
Next question: do you Bing? (Yes/no)
You're ridiculous.
Next question:
if we fail at our technology tycoonery because negroniblasianblondie child tycoons are caught with the wrong telenovela stars in the discoteca by tabloids, are you okay with us being exiled to it huge ship off the coast of South Carolina? I'm trying to hit close to home for you, and since you are a descendant of slaves wanna make sure you feel comfortable when we going to exile.
Next question: if put under pressure because the success of our company was under the line would use smuggle fine leather goods across the border so we can have treat yourself day? coincide with cinco de mayo parties sponsored by Azizzimmermann corporation, also known as azizimermano?
okay now that you've noticed that I'm a Parks and Recreation fan: the reason I reached out to you is because your rec center nightclub with hot secretaries and gameroom would be wildly successful model for our branches in mexico. the Mexican people need to invest more energy into being sexy, not working and watching cell phone videos. this is my 3 pillar approach to building a technology tycoon. it's how Mexicans reacted to the Industrial Revolution and the model should continue to bring us great wealth and progress. Trust me on this one.
Aziz, when are you willing to move to Mexico City?
Great, because carlos slim already has an arranged blasian albino marriage ceremony ready for us in Cuernavaca over the weekend. I'm thrilled you're in, we are going to make great tycoon babies together. Our escalade is out around back.
When the supreme court justice saw gay marriage as a threat in the hearings
Suddenly 80% of society would turn! What moral chaos to strike down the christian fiber of america. Heard this one before, cough, every "unprecedented" civil rights step forward
How i might act, if im drunk, and go back to the united states
I am scared women anthems are even more forbidden.
Geena Davis institute found less than 1% of women on screen talk to each other about topics other than men.
You know whats really nice?
Reciprocal giving. Usually when I really dig someone I give them too much, thinking I have nothing to lose. And in turn are left feeling clever, maybe even proudly loyal, but often cheap. At worst, desperate. Just cuz I like someone and would do a lot to bring someone joy and depth of caring.
Sooo not in macho code. Machos either only give, or receive like gimp puppies.
When ppl have a big enough spirit to surprise back, damn, that's the best and so rare. In love or friendship.
Attention isn't it - its actually sharing and opening.

Dear Oaxaqueñan Tamale Man, with your speaker larger than your steaming tin pot of your wife's proud tamales, man of the year, Aztec of the new hipster emerald city:
I hate you. I would never buy from you. You're worse than a bum: I can't shut you out. If I went to hell, your tamale recording would play.
But it is you I have chosen to love. Because my heart must laugh, must have love. Your song is as kind as my favorite E.E. poem:
"I have eaten the plums
In the icebox
Which you were probably saving
For breakfast
Forgive me
They were delicious
So sweet and so cold."
I hear your hum. It is brain-paralyzing. Your distribution never ceases to amaze, but your sales must be terrible. You are entirely unoptimized. Your frequency is 2,000x and 200MHz over cap. I have to ask you, to make sure you are human, and to preserve my own humanity:
How meditative is it for you to go on for hours with that speaker? How much joy, curiosity, release and nervous eagerness does a tamale sale give you? Does anyone run out to catch you, a naive immigrant, and shock you? Where do you stop, to say hello? How old are you? Do tamales even matter to you? Or are you perfectly pleased with the echo of your sound through familiar streets, your empire, which you know best, hundreds, hundreds, hundreds of times a day, and well after dusk?
Tamale man, no one can deny it you are a robot-being, but you are our most loyal guardian; if awake, you see every store awning hung, clausurado sticker pasted; bike unchained and flower sprouted. Maybe even people changing behind cracked Victorian second-floor open windows.
If you are as you seem- an existential post-death trance of broken pavement, grime and electronics; striking both curiosity and fear in pedestrians who hear you every night from their beds, and every morning naked in their showers; do those familiar eyes give you life? When people look at you as if they know you better than their own spouses, want to see you, yet also loathe you- how does that make you feel?
Don't you ever wish to one day, you could go home and ask your great aunt to sign a hauntingly beautiful love ballad in a native language ... And the following rainy morning, emerge with your bike, haunting everybody with the new song from your speaker?
Imagine the physical excitement to rotate the same streets as always, your meditative circuit - and let the lovers, the cooks, the children and the mechanics all hear this new piece of your own intimate life, as you forcibly enter theirs? Auntie Marisol, singing with tones of deep, lush real life? Tamale man, vulnerable and human? Tamale man monologue? How many ignore you- and close off their senses - since it is impossible to know you? How loved could you be, if you broadcasted your own self one day?
Ever since the yelling morning man stopped yelling with mad ferocity and became two, the yelling brothers, who together began howling lower, more tired, more forgiving.... It made me imagine the yeller sitting before his meal, capable of human sensitivity. The unthinkable, not long ago.
